"Viktor Popkov: genius of the Russian soul"

Today at the cultural center "Somerset-хаус" opens the first UK exhibition devoted to the work of one of the most acclaimed artists Victor Popkov. This exhibition will give the public a rare opportunity-новому look at the underrated period of Soviet art and to see that his legacy is not just confined to stereotypical reproduction of propaganda stamps. Popkov's enormous talent was recognized both in Russia and in the West. In 1967 he received an honorary diploma at the Biennale of modern art in Paris, and in 1975 was posthumously awarded the State prize of the USSR.
