Today the Russian Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Art opens the exhibition " Altai - Lifestyle - Time " from the State Art Museum of Altai Krai .

The exhibition includes several sections: "The traditional folk art of Altai ", " Icons ", " local handicrafts Altai Krai ", " Lubok ", "Painting ". Most of the works presented in the exhibition Moscow audience will see for the first time .

particular interest are the items of folk art collected during the expeditions to the Altai Territory . In the XVII and XVIII centuries, Altai settled Old Believers, newcomers were " Kerzhaks " and " Poles ", Russian settlers of the XIX century . presents unique examples of Russian Weaving and embroidery , brought from the villages of Ust- Koksinsky and Ust -Kan areas , various vintage spinning wheel , graceful shape and painted in traditional archaic manner .

iconographic heritage represented in the exhibition Altai monuments late XIX - early XX century - icons Suzunskoye craftsmen and peasants iconographer Old Believer VF Balykina Zalesovo from the village .
