The composition of the chamber exhibition includes more than fifty original drawings , etchings and lithographs . The exhibition is held in the framework of the program "The Tretyakov Gallery opens its store ».

George Verey was born in Ukraine and received his first artistic training in Kharkov. In Munich , Vienna and the Italian cities from 1905 to 1907 , he met with leading European trends in art. After returning to Russia , he continued his education in Verey " New Art Studio " in St. Petersburg , where he met with M. Dobuzhinsky , A. Ostroumova -Lebedeva , Lansere , B. Kustodiev and soon began to participate in the exhibitions of the "World of Art" . Since 1918, he has taught at the Central School of Technical Drawing of Baron Stieglitz and the Higher Institute of Photography and Photographic later in VKhUTEMAS - VHUTEINe .

The main theme of the artist's work was the life of St. Petersburg ( Leningrad ) . Works of George Verey invariably represented in the permanent exhibition of the Tretyakov Gallery on Krymsky as classic examples of twentieth century. The exhibition viewers will become familiar with a large body of his works, some of which are exhibited for the first time after the restoration .
