In the years following the advent of impressionism, which became a real breakthrough in the art, Gauguin, Bonnard and Denis started the search for new artistic ways of representing reality. Escaping the world of Paul Gauguin (1848-1903) was a perfect example for those prone to introspection Pierre Bonnard (1867-1947) and theorist Maurice Denis (1870-1943). Bonnard and Denis, as well as several other artists (such as Vallotton and Vuuar) was a short-lived band called "Nabi", derives from the Hebrew word "prophet". These young artists were in search of new and interesting artistic ways of representing reality. Unlike the Impressionists, who first sought to capture the changing state of the natural light, the artists "Nabi" in the first place put color, perception, symbolism and imagination. Their work immediately were taken in Paris and Mosque@
a Wealthy Russian collector Ivan Morozov was fascinated by the talents of young artists, began to take their work and offer orders. For example, in 1908 Morozov invited Denis to decorate the concert hall of his mansion. The exhibition includes unique works of fine interior, including seven paintings and six decorative panels "the love Story of Cupid and psyche". For the same Morozova Bonnar wrote the monumental triptych "the Mediterranean". This work also demonstrated at the exhibition, columns decorated flat, which should emphasize the illusory nature of Mediterranean Paysage@
the artists group "Nabi" on display, along with French paintings and paintings of their predecessors, contemporaries and immediate followers. The exhibition also includes a small selection of sculptures by Auguste Rodin, Maillol and Auguste Field Auguste Bartolome and, thus, reveals the different sides of the intense artistic life of Paris 1890-х godov@
Name "Nabi" was first used in 1889 by a group of young artists engaged in the search for a new method of painting. They all studied at the Paris Academy Julian. The inspiration was the bold experimenter Paul Gauguin, which suggested to them a new way of perceiving and representing reality. The exhibited works were written in the period between 1890 and the outbreak of world voyny@
His "flat" style, originally absent in the traditional linear perspective, artists group "Nabi", along with other avant-garde artists such as van Gogh and Gauguin, opened the door to contemporary art. Their paintings made according to the principle of nesmeshivaemost colors, expressive use of form and paint, set the stage for the emergence of abstract art. Their subjects were quite broad and included urban and landscape paintings, religious subjects, portraits and interiors. Artists "Nabi" used a photo to check their composition ideas, thereby developing photographic vision. They are also fond of decorative painting in the style of ar-нуво in which they wrote numerous decorative panels for mansions to its patrons. Using all these methods, the artists explored the boundaries between high and low, fine and applied iskusstva@
