the first time in Russia at the Pushkin Museum. Pushkin an exhibition of works by one of the greatest Renaissance masters Titian Vecellio (1488/1490-1576), who entered the history of world art as an outstanding colorist, master of the psychological portrait, the reformer of religious paintings, largely determined the development of painting later time. The exhibition presents 11 masterpieces from the museum's collections 10 8 cities in Italy. This painting on religious and mythological subjects and portraits.
outstanding painter Tiziano Vecellio was born in the mountain village of Cadore and practically lived all his life in Venice, where he finished his route, a little before the age of ninety years. He left an indelible mark in painting, defining its development for centuries to come. His mastery of the colourist and the manner of the letter sounded like a new word to his contemporaries. The artist executed orders of the richest families of Europe - from the Pope to the Emperor Charles V and his son Philip II, Duke's names Este and Gonzaga.
works presented in the exhibition reflect the entire career of Titian, offering the audience a comprehensive gallery of images and compositions of the master. In the artist's early works clearly influenced by Giorgione. Then we see how the artist gradually acquires its own color and expressive style. In such works as "Madonna and Child" (1507) from the collection of the Academy of Carrara in Bergamo and the "Baptism of Christ" (1512) from the Pinakothek Capitolina, dynamic compositions and original plastic figures sent special coloristic sound. The most complete expression of the creative style of the artist received in the fifties and sixties of the XVI century, when naturalism gave way to an unprecedented and dramatic emotional tension: it is, of course, "The Crucifixion", a majestic monumental altarpiece, created by Titian for the church of San Domenico Maggiore in Ancona. For the first time in the history of this work is exhibited to show the outside of Italy.
Along with the paintings of the Gospels and the exhibition presents the work of Titian's portrait. The unprecedented demand for the artist among European customers has made him a model portrait painter, influenced the entire subsequent development of this genre in Europe. Such works as "Portrait of Giulio Romano" (1536) from the Municipal Museum of Palazzo Te in Mantua and "Portrait of Count Antonio di Porcia" (1535-1540) of the Brera picture gallery - striking examples of portraiture masters.
Psychologism, which is saturated with "Portrait of Tommaso Bridges" (1520-1526), it is clear and is read in the image of Venice "Beauties", which in the Pushkin Museum are two absolute masterpiece - "Flora" (1515), previously shown at the Embassy of Italy in Moscow, and "Beauty" (1536) - embodied the canon of female beauty of the Renaissance.
no doubt attract the attention of the public and laden with poetry composition on mythological subjects "Danae" (1544-1545) from the collection of the Farnese, a recognized masterpiece of the master, first exhibited in Russia, and "Venus blindfolding Cupid" (1565) painted by the late Titian of the Borghese Gallery.
to the final period of work of Titian is " The Annunciation. " Impressive for its size - 410 x 240 cm - is also a product has not yet been exported outside of Italy. Written as an altarpiece for the chapel of St. Augustine Venetian church of San Salvador, the picture is a wonderful example of Titian's late work, where accuracy is important, not so much in the form is submitted, how many special emotional atmosphere that characterizes the entire composition. Here, in a flowing light under a relaxed artist's brush Gospel story appears as a sudden vision, almost completely devoid of any materiality.
