Leningradke Alice Ivanovna whips , with its French name and Swedish blood, had to be one of the most interesting and colorful figures of the artistic and literary life of Russia in the twentieth century. The generation to which she belonged, in the 1920s and 30s has formed a new way of thinking, has determined the development of culture and art, overcoming inveteracy outdated phenomena. But I wonder something else: her own life and personal creativity, it is not claiming to be "laurels" era, nevertheless attracted her attention and caused delight in the wide range of her admirers and fans, people mostly intellectual professions. How did this strange phenomenon of the twentieth century - the attraction to the person, who managed to create a life of their art, capable of any, even the most ordinary, transforming event in celebration, game, defying convention and most severe of the world rather offensive - this exhibition.

She was lucky to teachers: professional knowledge, skills and craftsmanship she received from outstanding teachers. When he entered the Academy, she really wanted to get into the class K. Petrov-Vodkin , but in his workshop there was no availability, and then Alice two days coped with the setting - a still-life "Glass and Apple" (1922), which allowed, in violation of the rules, to take her in class above the quota. After the war, Alice Ivanovna, settling in Moscow, at some point, felt like an outcast: no job, lived in rented apartments, was cut off from the usual way of Leningrad and the environment. Over time, she continued her studies picturesque. From the late 1940s to the early 1980s Poret wrote many portraits of his friends in Moscow, opened in artist talent is not only a painter but also a clever narrator, a charming companion and bright restless inventor. His "Portrait of Poret" dreamed of having many. Moscow fans of Alice Ivanovna still remember her cheerful disposition and sharp sarcasm, exquisite evening shows her paintings and art objects. Exhibition A. I. Poret in the "Galeev Gallery" - the first in Moscow over the past 30 years - is based on meeting friends "beautiful Alice," often in her wonderful home for Ogareva, 13, and kept her memory.

The exhibition is accompanied album, which first published the work of AI whips of museum collections: the Pushkin Museum. Pushkin Museum, GMI Karakalpakstan (Nukus), Pushkin Museum of Karelia (Petrozavodsk), Museum of Arts. Amiranashvili (Tbilisi), the State Literary Museum, private collections, as well as photographs from the archives of VI Glotser. Illustrations are accompanied by excerpts from her previously unpublished diaries. The originals diaries, as well as samples of her paintings and drawings are on display.
