Today NCCA opened an exhibition of German art in the second half of the XX - the beginning of XXI century from the collection of the Art Museum in Bonn, Germany. The exhibition is realized in the framework of the Year of Germany in Russia, 2012-2013.

Bonn, the former capital of the Federal Republic of Germany - one of Europe's oldest cities, with a history spanning two thousand years. In the center of town is the famous Museum Mile - an area which presents the most famous museums of the city, including one of the largest contemporary art museums in Germany - Bonn Art Museum, founded in 1947. The museum is proud of its most colorful collection of German Expressionism and post-war art, with more than seven and a half thousand exhibits.
Today, the names of many artists, which in Germany known to everyone who is interested in art, in Russia until widely known. In addition, and painting itself as an art form in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, many have tried to declare an anachronism that does not match the modern understanding of the world. However, even with the advent of new technologies and audio-visual arts, painting steadily remained one of the basic ways of artistic reflection of reality.
First Art Museum in Moscow, Bonn will present works of the best art collections in Germany. The exhibition will offer a unique opportunity to the Russian audience an idea of the post-war Germany as an example of painting the brightest artists working in this genre. The exhibition will feature works by artists of different generations in a variety of techniques - in particular, the works of artists such as Gerhard Richter, Sigmar Polke, Georg Baselitz, as well as lesser-known names in Russia, holding, however, is a unique place in the history of German art - They Knebel or early deceased student of Joseph Beuys Blinky Palermo. The historical part of the exhibition is complemented by a new generation of artists, began work in the 1990s - 2000s.
Concentrated in a small exhibition space of the NCCA, the exposure will put a clear focus and point the key stages of transformation painting in Germany over the past 60 years.
