Chamber exhibition, which features about 20 sculptures, is devoted to idealized notions of Soviet-era 1930s and 50s. More than half of these works are a wide audience for the first time. Most of the works in the exhibition belongs to the 1930s and reflects the formation of a "pantheon" of new characters and a classic of Soviet iconography of the Stalinist period. "Metallurg" GI Motovilov (1936, bronze) was the "new classics" of the Soviet sculpture, securing communications with the heroism of our classical antiquity. This work was exhibited at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1937 inside the pavilion, which was topped by a sculpture B. Mukhina «The Worker and Collective Farm Girl". It is no accident GI Motovilov some time later headed the sculpture workshop of the Volga-Don canal, the decoration is applied to the field of ideological rather than functional.
semantic center of the exhibition - in the art of majolica panels and . Frikh H. Hara, "" Life has become better, life has become merrier (Feast of the Azerbaijani farm) "(1939. 153 x 265). A landmark work of the era, it is at the same time, falls out of the usual ideas about the discovery of Soviet sculpture first subway stations. IG-Chara Frikh not received a formal art education and a closer primitive than the academic tradition, can be roughly compared with H . Pirosmani . In the panel "Life has become better, life has become merrier" decorativism color and peculiar folk culture, a typical refresh and "nomenclature" storyline farm holidays. The last time the sculpture was shown at the solo exhibition of IG-Chara Frikh more than 20 years ago. During the restoration of the exhibition specialists Galleries relieved by panels of gypsum layers and collected again.
portrait genre in Soviet art has always played a significant role. Busts of SD Lebedeva show the true heroes of 1930 -s - the founder of a mass movement of innovators AG Stakhanov and the famous test pilot VPChkalov. Sculpture MD Ryndzyunskoy (1877-1946) «Young Stakhanovite cotton fields Mamlakat Nahangova" (1940. Granite, height 225) - an example of iconography of the "best people in the country." addiction to the archaic art of Egypt and Assyria did not restrict M . D. Ryndzyunskuyu in the choice of today's stories. However, critics have imputed to her guilt, and conditional styling in the interpretation of the image.
exhibition is supplemented by later works, which are shown for the first time: sculptures ZV Bazhenova (1905-1987)« Portrait of the Hero of Socialist Labor Irbutaevoy Lola "(1949.
