Today at the Center of Photography Lumiere brothers opened the anniversary exhibition of Vladimir Bogdanov, "among friends". In 2012, renowned photographer and one of the founders of the domestic street photography celebrates its 75th anniversary. The exhibition features over 100 photographs, created by Bogdanov in half a century, and reflecting his unique style.

This exhibition continues the project Center of Photography, "Anthology of Russian photography of the twentieth century. Photo 60 x 70 ", in which already held solo exhibitions B. Lagrange, Yuri Y. Abramochkin , Gnevasheva I., A. Abaza, and others.

Vladimir Bogdanov - a recognized master of portraiture. The exposition of the exhibition includes portraits of famous writers, poets, artists, filmmakers and musicians. They include such legends as Lilya Brik, Dmitri Shostakovich, Vladimir Vysotsky, Okudzhava, Mstislav Rostropovich. Bogdanov was even able to make a portrait of Henri Cartier-Bresson - the most famous documentary photographers of all time, which, incidentally, did not like to be photographed.

Vladimir Bogdanov considered one of the progenitors of the so-called straight photo. Wherever he was - in the courtyard of the Moscow, Leningrad, on the quays, in the Summer Garden in Minsk, Vologda, - he rented a simple life. Half Life photographer was held in St. Petersburg, a half - in Moscow. And more than 50 years lived in the photos. In 1955, Bogdanov joined the photo club DC Leningrad City Council and 10 years later began working press photographer in the youth newspaper "Change." Then there were the "Leningrad Pravda", "Komsomolskaya Pravda", "Soviet Russia", "Work," and, finally, the "Literary Gazette," which was given almost a quarter century. A happy coincidence that resulted in the Leningrad intelligentsia into a hotbed of democracy and liberalism. The only issue where the photographer Vladimir Bogdanov could exist.

recognition and fame came with a photo, "It is not my damn business." At the international competition "InterPressFoto-66" with the dog, he became the winner of the Audience Award.

Bogdanov intuitively that freedom is free, which can be envy. I have never been bound routine, program, or other requirements of the time, the system management, market. For this he was accused. And he does not hear or understand. Because crazy, crazy or , an artist. Lives are not projects, and instantly, the moment - the wonderful, fleeting, the only secret, but he was obviously, from which time on earth is woven.
