Pieter Hugo was born in 1976 in Cape Town. For the first time a camera came into his hands when he was 10 years old on the first printed image was portrayed homeless people. Hugo works were exhibited in major museums around the world: Victoria and Albert Museum in London Institute of Contemporary Arts in Brisbane and at the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma in Helsinki. «Hyena and other people" - a series of portraits of small of stray animal trainers who meet the submission with wild animals, earning several thousand naira (1,000 naira - about 6.5 U.S. dollars). They hold ancient secrets of how to catch the animal, as it is calm, how to care for, how to make sure that it did not cause harm to humans. Spells, potions - magical tools to commit a very serious and dangerous work.
Portraits by Peter Hugo caused a different reaction of the audience (from curiosity to disgust) create a sense of what they are talking about dramatic relationship with oneself, with animals and with nature.
