In the halls of the Gallery of Arts Zurab Tsereteli, Russian Academy of Arts presents an exhibition of works by the Vice-President of Arts, People's Artist of Russia, Professor Leo Viktorovich Shepeleva « Autumn, I was again deprived of the rest ... ", which is timed to coincide with the 75th anniversary of his birth. The exhibition features more than 100 works from different years, a considerable part of them executed by the artist in recent years.

Leo V. Shepelev - a recognized master of the art graphics. Start in professional life gave him great artists and great teachers Lentulov and Yuri Pimenov , who noticed the young man pronounced talent for drawing. Then there was the Moscow Art School, the Moscow State Academic Institute. Surikov, where his teachers were Kibrik , M. Matorin , Yu Rayner.

Creativity L. Shepeleva mainly focused on the theme of the city - its history and contemporary life, the central neighborhoods and suburbs understated, quiet streets and deserted corners older neighborhoods. The artist gives the viewer the beauty and uniqueness is not only a big city, whether in Moscow, St. Petersburg or Paris, but also a quiet province, the solemnity of the architectural ensemble of great architects and brilliant works of unknown Russian architects, built of white stone churches. In his works - and the famous monuments, monasteries and stately embankments, and the usual urban neighborhoods, which forms an artistic take on a truly sound and touch to allow a certain age-old mystery that could only see a real artist.

Along with the urban landscape of LA Shepelev also drawn to the genre of portraiture and still life. In his papers of Shepelev demonstrates brilliant craftsmanship, excellent possession of various complex graphic techniques. Most of all, it involves paint, which gives a soft, velvety surface, saturation and density of the paint layer, as well as an excellent, almost painterly expressiveness. Working on the composition Shepelev carefully selects the details of his artistic language is concise, flexible and refined.

From 1990 to 2001 A . Shepelev headed the Moscow State Academic Art Institute. VI Surikov. In 2002 he organized and headed the department of "The Art of Graphics" at the Moscow State Art-Industrial Academy. Stroganov, where he teaches at the present time.
Works LV Shepeleva are in the collections of domestic and foreign museums and private collections.
