«Family Album" - under this name the artist has created several large series of graphic works. The very first one - "Family Album number 1", consisting of 13 sheets, made in the technique of etching in 1973-1978. Works from this album more than once reproduced in various publications and directories, participated in exhibition projects. However, this whole album demonstrates for the first time. Most of the prints made from planks of copyright after the author's death in 2004 his widow - Nina Feigin-Gorokhovskaya. Along with the etchings also demonstrates the author's schedule - watercolors, drawings (ink, pencil), collages, have never been exhibited.

At the turn of the 1960s and 70s of last century, when the world of art Rethinking visualization occurred languages ​​- the picture as such, in the classical sense, devalued, and the picture of the tools for documenting transformed into an independent art form - Edward Gorokhovskiy felt that art is no longer refers only to the emotional area, dominated by color, color, composition and other purely artistic attributes. Conciseness, simplicity, clarity emerged as a derivative ontological rethinking of time and served as the basis of what an artist fascinated by photography, quickly transformed this hobby into your own individual method of visualization, which is manifested in the manipulation of a photograph. Working with photos of the artist used painting techniques, screen printing and etching, creating a picture-prints.

Like our memories, memories superimposed on each other, and E. Gorokhovskiy, pushing the photo of the unexpected elements, photographic transfers illusory space plane in the graphics: "The picture I have always consists of two elements, one of which - is reproduced in some way photo, the second - something that intrude into the photographic space. The second point can be anything: a geometrical figure, silhouette, text or other photography. This element, entering into the picture, intruding into deep space photography, it returns the picture plane. He seems to devalue the photographic space, transforming it into a flat photographic sticker. " Thus, the photograph loses the properties of the document - specifically the time and place of creation - and becomes a symbol of time, somehow stretched without chronology, in a space without borders, where the waves of his memory are fixed, we, the audience ».
