The exhibition "For Valour" Gallery "Triumph"
Alexander Vinogradov and Vladimir Dubosarsky present its new project dedicated to veterans of World War II
Gallery "Triumph", September 9 - October 2, 2011
today in the gallery "Triumph" (street Ilinka 3 /8, p. 5) opens an exhibition of works Dubossary and Alexander Vinogradov «For Courage." Veterans of World War II - Heroes of the panorama "For Valour" - are presented against the backdrop of the river, like the one on which banks gay orgy unfolding of "total art", an early draft of artists. But this is not paradise Volga Russian birch, a cold Styx, which separates the living world from the realm of oblivion Aida. And no matter what picture the celebration May 9 sustained in major tones: the happy smiles, flowers, ironed form, combat awards - all this can not hide the fact that Victory Day is on the wane, becoming a shadow of the Victory, and the soldiers of each breast of which is decorated with the medal "For Bravery" (modest in appearance, but especially valuable for the soldiers, because it only allowed for personal courage and bravery in battle) - the last legion, almost hidden behind the horizon of the past XX century. Soon their place will occupy the new veterans is not "holy wars" and the colonial campaigns like Afghanistan.

theme of war, especially World War II, appeared in the work of Vinogradov and Dubosarsky precisely as a reaction to the official newspaper. In the middle of the zero artists in his own words, felt the need to speak on this subject, paying tribute to the victims and survivors in 2004, "In Memoriam". Modest way - unassuming wild flowers in vases on the laid oilcloth table - has an epigraph for the panoramic project "For Valour". Vinogradov and Dubosarsky returned us to reality. Creating a portrait gallery of people that have not been and there is nothing heroic - fragile old ladies, attached, but folded a load experienced elderly - the artists were reminded that the victory was won not supermen, but was given superhuman effort of ordinary people who defended life "death by death." In this case Vinogradov and Dubosarsky have taken the liberty not only moralizing but also moral artists, updated long-forgotten maxim of Diderot that the artist needs two qualities: a sense of morality and a sense of perspective. In our case, the historical perspective.
