A new exhibition introduces the works of MMSI Yuri Savelyevich Zlotnikov, whose name is connected a phase of development of Russian contemporary art in the second half of the twentieth century

Today at 19:00 Moscow Museum of Modern Art (Ermolaevskiy, 17) opens the exhibition "Space Yuri Zlotnikov».

Yuri Savel'evich Zlotnikov - the name associated with this whole stage of development of Russian contemporary art in the second half of the twentieth century.

«Signal System" Zlotnikov, one of the largest and most interesting phenomena of the national history of art, provided a "shot" of ideas to the Russian avant-garde artistic tradition, which also include the processes of today.

However, the art opening Yuri Zlotnikov associated not only with the famous "alarm system". Quite early realized the impossibility of widespread implementation of the aesthetic principles, which it concluded, Zlotnikov for many years that followed Khrushchev's "thaw", sought and found an opportunity to support their work in the conditional status of the project, so necessary for a genuine modern art, not falling to decorative or quotation. His works represent the opposition, not only the right wing of the Soviet art of officialdom to resolve the "youth" of Surrealism, but also to the left, nonconformist camp - as the generation of the sixties, and later of Moscow Conceptualism. Exhibition consists of four conditional sections that reflect the wide aesthetic and ethical outlook of the artist: "Man," "Signals," "Space" and the last stage, including work very recently - "Space and time».

In the "Man" the audience will get acquainted with the works of 1950-60's - a series of "Balakovo, portraits and self portraits Zlotnikov, with a cycle of works devoted to Moscow.

Next section will present the best-known works to date Zlotnikova - "Signals", created in 1957-1962 years, in five of the most free, "thaw" years of Soviet history.

In the section, conditional unites the name of which - "Cosmos" will show works from the mid-1960 until the end of the century, including the famous triptych "History", "circles of Dante" and "dramatic composition", the monumental "The antithesis of" Black Square "Kazimir Malevich and the" Metaphysical Composition ».
