Exhibition Albina Akritas in Arts
today at 16:00 at the Russian Academy of Arts (Prechistenka, 21) opens an exhibition of works by folk artist of the Russian Federation, Member of the Russian Academy of Arts, Professor Albina Akritas. The exhibition includes paintings, drawings, monumental art, performed mostly in recent years.
Albina Akritas - acknowledged master, well known in this country and abroad. Her paintings and graphics of the series - portraits, landscapes, still lifes, compositions - marked by high professional culture, a deep richness and amazing plastic thinking. Rich and complex development of color is primarily conceptual and emotional burden. The wizard is extremely poetic, they sought and associative, can transmit a variety of mental states.
A. Akritas is constantly searching for creative, implementing new designs and ideas, a lot of experimenting, constantly updating arsenal that contribute to the greater expressiveness figurative plastic language. Convincing proof of this are the works presented at the exhibition. Particularly noteworthy are works devoted to Greek history and nature of which have long been the source of her inspiration.
In his canvases, it recreates the events contained in the legends and myths of ancient Greece, deploying a wide panorama of scenes from the life of ancient people and the wise gods, drew attention to the audience stories of biblical theme, showing a remarkable ability to penetrate into the inner world of characters of the past, reflecting the spirit of the time period.
undoubted interest are the works of Pushkin's famous series of "Don Juan", "Queen of Spades" and others, as well as works devoted to Spain. The exhibition also included a portrait gallery of our contemporaries, performed solidly in the classical style, marked by subtle psychological.
A. Akritas is the author of the beautiful interpretation of one of the romantic legend of the Ancient World "The Story of Psyche" - the monumental cycle of 7 large panels that adorn the White Hall of the Russian Academy of Arts. At the beginning of last century paintings on this theme have been specially created for this room by Maurice Denis.
Akritas works are in collections of major national museums and private collections overseas.
The exhibition runs to March 13 inclusive.
