Today, January 31, in the main building of the Pushkin Museum Pushkin will open the exhibition "Art of Northern Gothic and Renaissance. Painting, sculpture, art furniture from the collection of M. E. Perchenko (Moscow). " Will feature works by masters of the end of the XV - beginning of the XVII century.
ensemble of ancient monuments, with an internal stylistic unity and high artistic quality, includes several sections. Part of the exhibition devoted to the work of German artists, will present a series of expressive paintings, including "Portrait of Johann Friedrich the Magnanimous, Elector of Saxony", performed by Lucas Cranach the Younger in 1547.
Works Netherlands masters XV - XVI centuries, including many premium, in some cases - a unique monument. Artistic quality dominates the triptych "The New Testament Trinity with a mystical source of the Life-Giving Blood of Christ" Walloon artist Jean Bellgamba. A true gem - a small panoramic "Landscape with a scene of St. Rest on the Flight into Egypt" by the artist from the circle of Joachim Patinira. Vividly represented the period, known as "Dutch Mannerism» XVI century.
The second component of the exhibition - a collection of painted polychrome sculptures Netherlands, Slovakia, France, Spain, Germany and Austria. Sculptures placed in the altar, forming a miniature architectural ensembles, succinctly fit into a single space of the church. These amazing antiquities Western culture brings us to the wonderful and diverse world of the late Middle Ages.
Paintings and sculptures complement the collection of furniture made of walnut and oak. Viewers will see the intricately decorated kredentsy XV - XVI centuries (Western European type of the cabinet for storage of valuable glassware, received in Russia called "postavets). Also on display are chests and cabinets XVI - XVII centuries.
