The Russian Academy of Fine Arts (Prechistenka 21) opened an exhibition of works by Karen Papikyan dedicated to the 50-year anniversary of the artist. The exhibition includes about 40 paintings created during the 1990 - 2010-e.

name of the Moscow painter Karen Papikyan well known in the art world. He received serious professional education. In addition to direct training from his father - Alberta Papikyan , one of the recognized leaders of the Moscow School of Painting, K. Papikyan graduated MGHI Surikov (workshop TT Salakhova ), then - creative workshops Academy Arts (Head - AP Tkachev ).

Since the late seventies s K. Papikyan exhibited his works at art exhibitions. Since mid-1990 he created his iconic style in painting, their individual poetic system. It took a direct full-scale vision, similar in appearance and credibility, there was a need to return to basics - esthetization primitive forms of art, passion strong plastic naive desire for color and line symbols.

Among the elected characters and plots Karen Papikyan important are ancient myths and legends of the Bible - "The Rape of Helen," "Adam and Eve", "Ikarus". Well-known characters in his works are filled with deeply personal meaning. K. Papikyan wrote their own signs for the different emotions, states and subjects. Each mental state is expressed through the plastic interaction of human figures, a sharp dynamic perspective - a kind of geometry of the visual image.
