Today, the State Tretyakov Gallery (Lavroushinsky, 10, hall № 38) opens the exhibition "Andrei Rublev. Feat iconography. " A joint project of the Tretyakov Gallery and the Central Museum of Ancient Culture and Art Andrei Rublev is timed to 650 anniversary of the famous medieval Russian artists. For the first time brought together a relatively small but of exceptional artistic quality products which are traditionally associated with the name of St Andrei Rublev, or could be created in its immediate environment.
Tretyakov Gallery holds the most significant collection of works by Rublev and his circle, the other monuments are scattered in various museum collections of the country. Seeing them in a single exhibition space, visitors will have a unique opportunity to make the fullest possible impression both on the legacy of the master, and a critical juncture in the history of Russian culture.
This exhibition is largely the result of scientific reconstruction carried out by researchers and ekspozitsionerami, as extant historical information about Rublev and works, authorship of which is documented, is not enough to produce its full creative biography. Herein lies the fundamental difference between the present draft of monographic exhibitions of artists of modern times, which is peculiar factual thoroughness, which allows viewers to trace all the stages and the nuances of their career.
The anniversary celebrations Rublev, the exact time of birth is unknown to us, has become a tradition since 1960, when an unprecedented scale, it was noted the 600 anniversary of the alleged birth of the painter.
