Works by the greatest masters of black and white photos of Frank and Elio Dituri chol
Today, 17 December, in the halls of the Art Gallery of Zurab Tsereteli (Prechistenka, 19) opens an exhibition of Italian photographers: Frank Dituri "Whisper» and Elio Chul "Density of silence» . The exhibition is organized by the Italian Cultural Institute, Russian Academy of Arts and the Moscow Museum of Modern Art.

Outstanding Master Helio-chol (b. 1929) presented work telling about his native Italy - its beautiful land, cities, people, past, present. He was "tied to their hearth and home and their culture, has for him is akin to religious feeling. This land is for him not only a starting point, but the point of return, its theme is closely linked with religious and philosophical worldview artist "- note contemporaries. The historic city of Assisi, Franciscan heart of worship, he captures it in the sun, then fog, then close to the smallest detail, from a distance, admiring his panoramas. He is constantly experimenting in search of new artistic and technical methods and forms (eg, using infrared photography). For him the world - the epitome of beauty and harmony. Carry this happy news - that is, in his opinion, is the essence of our life.
Helio-chol was born in the town Kasarsa della Delitsiya, where up to still lives and works. His familiarity with photography was in the studio of his father. And now his son Stefano continues a family tradition. In the 1950-chol was a member of the Venetian Photoclub La Gondola, participated in the International Competition of Photography in New York and has won several prizes. Subject Assisi took a special place in his work: his first album of photographs of Assisi, was released in 1969 and was reprinted five times in different languages. The book "Black and White, Italy, and repeatedly reprinted in several languages, the prize is awarded in London along with albums such famous photographers as Sebastian Salgado, and Paul Irwin Pen Countries. His works are in major museums in Europe, USA and Canada, they were exposed to 102 personal exhibitions and 112 group and played in nearly 200 books.

In his images, almost tangible, almost ghostly, combines the visible reality and its psychological background. Light through the blurred silhouettes of tree trunks, subtle human figures in the mists of urban neighborhoods, an object in the interior ... plots are very simple. Italian by birth, Frank Dituri grew up and became a photographer in New York. The spectrum of his artistic tastes range from the metaphysical surrealism of Giorgio de Chirico and Edward Hopper's realist painting to art by Piero della Francesca and poetic works of film director Pier Paolo Pasolini. Work of Frank Dituri exhibited in dozens of galleries and museums around the world and has repeatedly been published in virtually all major photographic publications. His bibliography includes about 20 copyright albums. More than 30 years, he teaches and conducts master classes in creative photography at the most prestigious educational institutions of Europe and the USA. His photographs are in private collections and public collections, universities, museums and galleries.
