Today, Oct. 15, the State Hermitage Museum presents "Flemish eye of David Teniers the Younger (1610-1690 )».
in 2010 marks 400 years since the birth of the Flemish artist David Teniers the Younger (1610-1690). A unique collection of paintings by masters of the Hermitage - one of the best in the world - allows you to celebrate this anniversary date. Collection of different thematic diversity of products and a high artistic level. The Museum has 33 paintings created in the heyday of the art of the painter (1640-1650 years). Due to the Hermitage collection in Russia knew Teniers and admired his paintings.
David Teniers the Younger became famous as a great landscape painter and his inventions master scenes of peasant life, which showed the inexhaustible possibilities of the domestic scene. He became the best traditions of the Netherlands genre painting of the XVI century. Particularly strongly felt in his creative artistic and spiritual influence of the great works of Pieter Bruegel the Elder (1525/30-1569). Teniers had inherited from its predecessor in an ironic, humorous interpretation of character and interest of domestic order.
Among presented at the jubilee exhibition of Hermitage paintings by masters of many genuine masterpieces. They show the main facets of art Teniers and allow to disclose the originality of his style.
