The exhibition was prepared ROSPHOTO Foundation and Clementine (Paris) in the Year of France - Russia. The exposition consists of forty original prints of the mid XIX century, made the classics of French photographer Charles Negrom (Charles Nègre), Henri Le insects (Henri Le Secq), Charles Marville (Charles Marville), Edouard Baldo (Édouard Baldus), Felix Nadarov (Félix Nadar), Dizderi Eugène (Eugène Disdéri), Karzha Etienne (Étienne Carjat), Pierre Petit (Pierre Petit) and other well-known artists.

prints on paper, in the middle of the XIX century, who replaced the silver plate daguerreotypes, came close to a photograph of graphic art. Gray, brown, burgundy and shades of other photos on saline and albumin paper resembled images in noble techniques, pencil, charcoal and sanguine. At this time, monochrome photographic prints on paper are for the artists a new source of study of nature and to improve the picture. Yet few were willing to publicly acknowledge the photograph, though, and used to create photographic art sketches (still lifes, pictures of nude, landscape elements and architectural details). Among the famous painters of France, only Eugene Delacroix, who became in 1851 one of the founders of the heliographic society, openly supported the young art.

Clementine Thanks to the Fund, we have a rare opportunity to see not just a unique photographs (in including self-portrait by E. Delacroix, portrait by E. Zola, collage E. Dizderi, to accommodate 321 person on the print size of 6 x 10 cm, paper negatives, E. Baldo and F. Petiau Groff), but at the same time, invaluable sources on the history of photography .

exhibition "Colors of early French photography" - it is also material for historiosophical thinking that requires slow, and peering into a thoughtful, contextual reading of each photograph.
