Today in the halls № 163-173 of the Winter Palace presents "Swiss stained XVI - XVIII centuries in the Hermitage».
Exhibition dedicated to the collection of Swiss Stained Glass State Hermitage, organized by the museum for the first time. It presents the best examples of different types of painted glass. Stained XVI - XVIII centuries, created in Switzerland, is truly unique to art of the small European country. Making stained glass desk here has acquired a mass character; already struck their contemporaries, the quantity and quality. In addition to the traditional Old Testament and the Gospel stories, the Swiss stained glass windows reflect the various aspects of everyday life, which makes them a valuable historical source.
