AES + F: "Pier Trimalchio"

Today, June 19, Center for Contemporary Culture Garage presents the world premiere of "Feast of Trimalchio," a new series of works of AEC S . The curator of the project will address Olga Sviblova, the founder and director of the Moscow House of Photography. The central object exhibition will become 9-channel video installation and a series of large format digital pictures.

«Feast of Trimalchio" - the interpretation of surviving in the most complete form chapters of the novel "Satyricon" of Petronius Arbitrator, the great Roman poet, a contemporary of Nero.

Fascinating video immerse the viewer in the space of a modern five-star hotel paradise, with paid accommodation, where he will be witness to such vices as excessive gourmandise, excessive waste and wealth, which became a symbol of Trimalchio himself, the character of the novel "Satyricon". Artists create their work on all the canons of advertising campaigns for luxury brands. People living in this luxury hotel are divided into two categories: "Gentlemen" and "servants". "Lord" - came from the "golden billion", dressed in white robes, referring to the association is with a modern Eden, from the colonial uniforms and even a cruise collections of some fashion houses. Nevertheless, they do not impersonal, and you can be easily distinguished university professor from a broker or secular lioness of an intellectual. "Servant" Trimalchio - young and attractive representatives from different continents, the staff great hotel industry: waiters, maids, cooks, gardeners, guards, masseurs. Everything is almost identical with the real picture of the world, but as the development of the characters sometimes begin to switch roles. Depraved pleasures of this cloudless heaven prone to global catastrophes, constantly intruding in this imaginary world.

9-channel video work was previously shown at the 53rd Venice Biennale, as part of the exhibition "Unconditional Love". Digital paintings exhibited in "The Garage" will be shown to the public for the first time.

AEC Group F consists of four artists: Tatiana Arzamasova, Leo Evzovicha, Eugenia Svyatskov and Vladimir Fridkesa. They work with mixed techniques, such as photography, video, sculpture, etc. The group is known that skillfully manipulates the classic technique used in commercial and fashion industry, showing them through the prism of the history of art and unusual stories narrative.

Eugene Svyatskaya

Born in Moscow In 1957, he graduated from Moscow Polygraphic Institute (Faculty of book graphics) in 1980. Lives and works in Moscow and New York. Participated in international competitions, posters, exhibitions of book illustration, graphics and posters. Worked as creative director at several publishing houses in Moscow.

Artists united in a group of AEC in 1987. Photographer Vladimir Fridkes joined the group in 1995, and the group became known as AEC F.

Vladimir Fridkes

Born in Moscow in 1956. Lives and works in Moscow. He worked in the field of fashion photography. Published in magazines: VOGUE, Harper's Bazaar, ELLE, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Sunday Times Style and others. Participated in exhibitions: Moscow Photobiennale (1996, 1998, 2002), "Fashion and Style in Photography" (1997, 1999, 2001), "Art Moscow" (2001), etc.

The exhibition runs until August 29, 2010.
