Today, April 7, in the gallery at the "Mosfilm" (Mosfilmovskaya st., 1, r. 3) opened the exhibition Juozas Budraitis "Illusion". It is part of the Moscow International Festival "Biennale-2010».

Juozas Budraitis (b. 1940) is professionally engaged in photography since the late 1960's. After receiving a law degree at the University of Vilnius (1968), graduated from the Higher Courses Budraitis scriptwriters and directors in Moscow (1979). At the invitation of their classmate Jonas Vaitkus Budraitis eight years (1981-1988) served in the Kaunas Drama Theatre, where he played many different roles.

Cinema came to life Budraitis in the years of study at university . Then, in 1965, directed by Vytautas Zhalakyavichus invited him to the role of Jonas in the film "Nobody wanted to die." This film - about the events in Lithuania in the postwar years - has attracted the attention of world public to the Lithuanian cinema and made famous its creators.

In mid-1960 Juozas Budraitis began photographing on the set. So there was a series of portraits of the actress Dzherlindy Kopelman, which Budraitis starred in the Estonian film "Woman in Black" (dir. Velye Kyasper, 1966)

In 1973, he worked with Budraitis Nahapetovym-directed his first feature film "Me Without You" (the role of farmer Theodore Bazyrina). Shooting in the Tver region protagonist photos Budraitis became his partner on the film - Marina Neyolova.

Since 1996 Juozas Budraitis is the Cultural Attache of the Embassy of Lithuania in Russia, but it does not stop filming ("Classic", dir. Georgy Shengelia, 1998, "Winter Romance", dir. Natalia Rodionova, 2004), involved in theater projects - the comedy Brothers Presnyakov Pub "(directed by Kirill Serebrennikov, 2008), the play" The Cherry Orchard "directed by Christian Finnish Smeds (2009).

Solo exhibitions Budraitis - photographer and artist, held in Moscow, Vilnius, Kaliningrad , Nizhny Novgorod, but it is only a small part of his photographic archive, the protagonist of which - the cinema.
