Photo Biennale 2010 ": Pierre Bula

Today in the Moscow Museum of Modern Art opened the exhibition "Pierre Bula /Pierre Boulat. Retrospective

Today, March 26, at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art (Tver br, 9) in the Moscow International Festival of the Photo Biennale 2010 opens the exhibition "Pierre Bula /Pierre Boulat. Retrospective ».

Pierre Bula not studied art, he studied photography. He always said: "I like the plumber, just doing my job the photographer. Work hard, often thankless, but he did it honestly and with passion. He practiced photography on a daily basis, he saw, he thought, spoke and wrote in the language of photography, and was not for him more freedom than the pictures that he loved: the life, people, women (at first), friends, clouds, suicide ... All but war and poverty, for they do not bear the misfortunes of another. Artur Rubinstein, Yves Saint-Laurent, the cadets at West Point, Polish miners, the smile of the Virgin Mary at Fra Angelico ... And he took them all equally well. For six decades, it was his happiness. But he never sought easy solutions. I remember the summer when he decided to withdraw the motion of stars in the sky. He could just buy the necessary for this lens. No, he chose to make the lens itself, using details from the designer, and we spent all night on the terrace of the month of August with his camera, looking at the sky ... For him, it was also part of the picture: something to invent, and the ideas he had set; technically all think and do, and he has been out opportunities; take a picture and share the result with all the others - in that he himself had never refused. He loved to photograph and because he loved to show their pictures. It was not egotism, it was not vanity. He thus shared with his other pleasures. That he had loved - to share with others the joy of life and be free. Drive through the whole of Europe behind the wheel of his car, fly a biplane, risking a break, to overcome the South Lebanon hills arafatkoy on the head, be in the thick of anti-American demonstrations in China ... to take a picture. All of Pierre's life in this - at the end of his lens.

Olivier Kappelen said of him: "Thin people's perception of the world and allowed him to be right in the center of all that, what he was looking: whether it is light, the substance or character. He is a shaman, was both actor and performer, and, ultimately, the creator, as added to the bare facts of their own "look", which thanks to his remarkable agility allowed to see all virtual, tayascheesya in reality, ignore all the possible its interpretation. He endlessly enriched and deepened it, for he had given all to see ... The main thing for him was the constant updating photos. So he took off, trying to always be in the heart of the nascent movement ».
