Ilya Kabakov , who now lives and works in New York before his departure to the U.S. in the late 1980's was one of the most successful illustrators of children's books in the Soviet Union. In Soviet children's literature had a higher status than in Western countries. In this genre worked many prominent writers and artists. Illustrations created by Kabakov, the first time will be presented in Europe at this exhibition. The exhibition, composed by the artist himself, includes a number of books, as well as nearly 300 works on paper, dating from 1956-1989 gg. They embodied the author's desire to engage in dialogue with a wide range of audiences and create space for their imagination.
the exhibition Publishing Kerber Verlag (Bielefeld, Leipzig, Berlin) published a catalog of books, reason Ilya Kabakov, designed by the artist himself, edited by Matthias Haldemanna (Matthias Haldemann).
