In Elliott Erwitt photographic lexicon, the word "private" refers to photographs taken for themselves - because he earns a living just a photograph. Erwitt took off like a professional for many customers, but always found time to make and "amateur" photography. In his opinion, the word "amateur" no negative sense: after all, it comes from the word "love". Removed for their own pleasure. Or, as he said, would complicate the picture ... But in this project included some of his commercial work ...

Elliott Erwitt sees in humanity then which causes a whole range of emotions - from the curve to the frank grin cackle ... The only son of a Russian emigre family, he found himself at the age of eleven years in New York while he was born in Paris, grew up in Milan, but left Europe for the last boat departing of the Free French. At sixteen, he was completely alone in Los Angeles: his parents left the city to leave and disperse in different directions. Erwitt has used his experience to be very careful observer, sensitive to all life circumstances, while remaining sweet and charming man. So it is surprising if the fact that his work marked a one of the most insightful, subtle and profound world views in the photos of XX century?
