Academic painting Irina Starzhenetskaya presents to the audience a series of paintings in tempera on paper, "Biblical Hills" (2009), consisting of three parts: "The Book of Ruth", "Song of Solomon", "Introducing the Gospels and the book-album of the same name.

The emergence of this series, the artist is obliged to a chance encounter with protoireem Leonid Griliches - rector of the church of the Transfiguration in the village of Island, as well as the chair of Biblical Studies of the Moscow Theological Academy and a teacher of ancient eastern languages at MSU. Metaphorically comparing the texts with a musical sound, Griliches told about his translation of the Old Testament and inspired Starzhenetskaya, opening her figurative way into this world.
