collection of Russian art in silver State Hermitage Museum presents a unique collection of highly artistic works of decorative art. The exhibited items, complemented by beautiful portraits of rulers, the ladies of high society and representatives of the merchant class, clearly illustrate the development of the silver business in Russia for three centuries - from the XVIII to beginning of XX century.

basis Hermitage collection of works in silver are the product of the silver pantry Winter Palace and Treasure Gallery of the Imperial Hermitage. After 1917, the collection is significantly enriched with items from nationalized private collections (Yusupov, Count Shuvalov Sheremetievs, Bobrinsky Stroganoff).

The exhibition includes pieces performed by Russian and foreign masters working in Moscow and St. Petersburg. The monuments of religious art (the gospel, chalices, liturgical instruments), ladles, salt shakers and service plates, cutlery, tableware (dinner sets, teapots, coffee pots, samovars, vases, glasses, etc.). The works of famous artists - JF Keppinga, N. Lund, S. P. Body, P. M. Tenner, D. F. Stanga, I. Sazikov, FA Verkhovtseva, PA Ovchinnikov, I. Khlebnikov, GP Gracheva, Faberge - allow us to trace all the features of style, technical innovations and artistic individuality.
