Sheluto (1906-1984) - masters, belonging to a generation of artists who have honored continue the tradition of southern Russian school of art. The exhibition presents over 40 paintings - delicate, chamber music, very intimate.
Nikolai Andreyevich Sheluto was born on February 22, 1906 in the family middle peasants of the village Glukhovka Gomel region in Belarus.
Four elementary school, he studied in Gomel gymnasium. Then he entered the Svetlovichah in public school - devyatiletku and finished it in 1924. In this school drawing teacher noticed his undoubted ability in a special way of seeing and depicting the world around us.
Arts Education Sheluto received at the Odessa Polytechnic Institute of Fine Arts (since 1928 - Art Institute) , which he entered in 1925. Studied Sheluto a legendary teacher and remarkable artists - PG Volokidina , TB Frayerman , GY Komar, MI Beetle - and the first solo exhibition of his work showed, while still a student IV year Polytechnic. The second exhibition (with classmate R. E. Nudelman) took place after the end of training, the autumn of 1930.
finished Polytechnic, as, unfortunately, and again and again in the future, Sheluto was forced to earn a living from the arena, far from a professional painter, but in 1936 took a significant event, of which he is often mentioned in his autobiography the phrase "creative work began in 1936" - "Regional Exhibition of sketches and drawings of artists from Odessa." This exhibition marked the beginning of his formal career in art.
In early 1939, NA Sheluto some time working in Kherson, but in the same year he returned to Odessa and became a teacher in an art College. In December 1939 was a group exhibition "Creative artists record R. E. Nudelman, NA Sheluto, ML Shparberga. In college, he worked intermittently until 1951, and from there went to the front, it is once again came to work after his return to Odessa in 1944.
NA Sheluto lived a long creative life. In his eyes held as several artistic periods - from the vanguard of the 1920's before the emergence of new artistic directions, replacing decades of socialist realism. Most happy way of life in NA Sheluto coincided spiritual closeness to the masters TYuRHa and work in the studio in the house EI Bukovetskogo , where he worked until PA Nilus , and then the teacher himself Sheluto -- Volokidin. Perhaps that is why, in spite of any age, creativity is inherent Sheluto rare integrity: fifty years he has continued and developed the tradition of southern Russian school. Small sketches Alexander Nikolayevich, conquering its completeness, masterfully depicts the state of nature, fine plein air painting. Even in landscapes, created in 1950, in the era of grandiose socialist realism, is not optimistic solemnity, if adopted in the USSR "at vystavkoma. Nikolai Andreyevich Sheluto did not write himself, and nature. Because it shines, and "eternal beauty" when the artist in it is no longer ...
Exhibitions NA Sheluto held in 1950 and 1956 ...
In recent years, having gone through decades of oblivion, the artist returns to the spectator.
