In Fotomuzee Amsterdam (Foam Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam) opened the retrospective exhibition of Alexander Rodchenko «Revolution in Photography. The exhibition includes more than 200 vintage photographs, many of whom have never before been exhibited in the west.

Alexander Rodchenko (1891-1956) - one of the greatest innovators in the art of XX century, which manifested themselves in various fields. Received international recognition as a painter, sculptor, graphic and, in 1920 he took up photography. Over the next two decades he has developed a bold new pictorial language. At the same time he managed to combine the formal problems of interest to the fixation of social and political life of the Soviet Union. Rodchenko helped change people's attitudes not only to photography, but also to the role of the photographer.

Exposition "Revolution in Photography" is devoted to two decades of Rodchenko's work in the field of photography. It reveals the artist's penchant for experimentation and broad scope of his work: from the witty to the photomontages of documentary reports from the streets of Moscow, from the dynamic architectural Studies to intimate portraits of people close to him. Rejecting the "pure" art in favor of visual language understood by a mass audience, Rodchenko as a photographer and designer engaged in the creation of posters, design magazines and books, the development of commercial public enterprises.
