Kunstsammlung AGKG has a large collection of foreign prints XVI - XX centuries, collected by the funds in 1927 from the library IA Repin (1841-1908). Artists of all European schools from the XV century, has always appealed to the graphic heritage Durer and Holbein the Younger - brilliant masters of the Northern Renaissance, seeking to comprehend the depth of their creative research. In the collection of foreign prints from the collections AGKG works of the great German artists presented works of engravers German and French schools XVIII - XIX centuries. At the exhibition, reproduction lists from the series "The Dresden Art Gallery", "Bavarian royal museum", "Royal Museum of France", performed in the techniques of incisal engraving, etching and lithography.
Exhibition project includes A. Durer woodcuts presentation of "Death of Mary" ( "Assumption of the Virgin"), 1510. A series of engravings "Life of Mary" was first printed in 1511 with the Latin text of the verse on the back of figures.
Woodcut received the funds Astrakhan Picture Gallery in December 2008 as a gift to the Administration of the Astrakhan region on the the occasion of 90 anniversary of the museum. A. Durer's engraving of "Death of Mary" is exhibited in AGKG them. P. Dogadina first time.
A significant part of the exhibition are the "Windsor" portraits of Hans Holbein the Younger (1497/98-1545), performed in the technique of color dashing famous Italian painter, engraver, Francesco Bartolozzi (1727-1815). The project involves the rare books from the collection of the Astrakhan Regional Scientific Library. NK Krupskaya, formerly belonged to the collection uvrazhey IA Repin.
The exhibition runs until 28 February.
