Today in the halls of Zurab Tsereteli Art Gallery opens exhibition of works of professor, Master of Architecture Efthimios Varlamisa "Poetic Architecture"

Today, 4 February, at 18.00 in the halls of the Art Gallery of Zurab Tsereteli (Prechistenka, 19) opens an exhibition of works of Professor, Master of Architecture Efthimios Varlamisa "poetic architecture. Exhibition organized by the Russia Academy of Arts, the Austrian Cultural Forum in Moscow and the Art Museum district Waldviertel (Austria).

Efthimios Varlamis - one of the unusual architects and artists of our time. In his work he seems to be pereplavlyayut heritage of different times and cultures in a harmonious universal living space. The exhibition presents over 60 paintings, executed in different techniques.

Efthimios (Macy's) Varlamis was born in Greece in 1942. Architect, artist, designer, teacher. More than 45 years living and working in Austria. He studied architecture at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. Since 1974, along with teaching in several European universities participated in numerous exhibitions in Europe, Asia and America, carried out experimental art, as well as urban research projects. He is the founder and head of the International Center of Art and Design in Lower Austria, the Art Museum District Waldviertel. Creativity Varlamisa won numerous international awards and prizes.

Varlamisa interested in issues of experimental architecture, in particular the establishment of structures aimed at the nature and rights, to preserve the environment. Trying to bring poetry into architecture, he seemed to oppose their creativity rather one-sided, functional, (de) constructivist issues relevant mainstream architecture. Poetry, fantastic realism, "Bauhaus" and anthropomorphic architectural utopias appear in his improvisations.

Nearly a century ago, Le Corbusier and "Esprit Nouveau", solving a number of social problems that contributed to the architecture a powerful management beginning. Varlamis believes that it is time to seek new perspectives and ways of development of architecture, its closer contact with life and harmony with nature, interiors and design.

The exhibition runs from March 4, 2010.
