Today, 19 January, at 18.00 in the gallery "Cinema" will be opening an exhibition "Early graphics Dmitry Krasnopevtsev" from a private collection.
The proposed project will consist of two equal parts. The first part - the early graphic work Dmitry Krasnopevtsev , now held in a large collection of contemporary art by Natalia Opaleva. The second part - the presentation of the album, reproducing drawings Dmitry Krasnopevtsev 1942-1945 period.
The history of the creation of the graphic series, complementing our understanding of the outstanding artists of the sixties.

These words belong to Dmitry Krasnopevtsev - one of the brightest and the identity of Russian Nonconformist art. But with every right they could belong and oldest friends wizard - Yuri Vasilyev . After all, he retained the earlier Figures D. Krasnopevtsev 1943-1946 period, when, at the time of leaving art school, two of his students have become students of the Irkutsk Aviation Military School.
The common artistic interests and preferences ( both - students adored their AV Chirkov), a common fate and a soldier's grave welfare - that is what tied them to the rest of his life.
Yuri Vasilyev, perhaps one of the first saw the peculiarity of his world view another insight of his view, to notice the beauty and harmony in the most seemingly ordinary things, the talent of composition, thoughtful, philosophic attitude to the realities of life - all that later so vividly embodied by mature master, become the core of his art.
Y. Vasiliev preserved in its archives a little collection of drawings D. Krasnopevtsev (of 34 tiny figure), treating them as jewels, not only as documentary material or friendly souvenirs. Later, after the death of Mona (as it was called at that time, close friends), this collection was kept from the widow of artist L. Vassilieva, and now is in the collection of Natalia Opaleva organically complementing it paintings and etchings Krasnopevtsev.
Literal match between image and reality of individual lines in the diaries D. Krasnopevtsev not accidental. And his record, and his figurative works - it is customary for the artist's means of display reflection of life in them - the essence of feeling and reason, the accuracy of expression, uniquely Krasnopevtsev intonation. Text and images complement each other and together account for almost tangible picture of those years.
Images are made or a simple pencil or ink on scraps of paper, cut out random old editions of books, catalogs, more journals. Perhaps it was then forced savings led the artist to feel the charm of a small size, dictating rigor and conciseness. Not here and there small size of etchings by the master?

Important and valuable argument. We can assume that this and other pictures were sent in a letter to Yuri Vasiliev. Similar "pictorial thinking" can be read-view and a figure of wood lying on the snow, "old chocks, breathtaking beauty».
Several figures stand out, eyes instantly correlate them with the stylistics of post-impressionism, persistently referring us to the works of Van Gogh, Derain, Matisse. Young artists there, deep in Siberia, wrapped in damp soldier's uniform, warming around woodburning stoves, raved about French art, reading the letters of Van Gogh, exchanging the necessary books for bread and tobacco, in secret from the authorities by passing them to each other. Argued and dreamed. Sometimes imitated, and that Dmitri Krasnopevtsev later, in his diaries, frankly acknowledged, noting how much this art information for them then meant. But even in these figures manifest virtuosity of this draftsman who had mastered the "other" style and freely, uninhibited by it enjoys.
More pictures - the chronicle of everyday existence - seen scenes from real life, urban and rural landscapes, abandoned cemetery on the banks of the Angara. At the cemetery of Dmitry Krasnopevtsev was seconded to help the hospital orderlies. Depicted in the scenes of the cemetery black fellows-shade (and we see them then and in many etchings) - find the brilliant artist. Obviously, this life, so unlike the life of an artist, then seemed to Dmitry Krasnopevtsev as something unreal, otherworldly, and the people there saw only silhouettes, incorporeal shells, phantoms. It is often completely fill the whole figure in black, contrasting it with the natural world, where, on the contrary, were important parts.
Nature - dead, zasnezhena, trees - without the leaves, many buildings - without roofs, the very existence - without a future. Realistic human face we see in this graphic collection only twice: in the portrait of a man in a fur hat in the background at home and in the male portrait (a self-portrait? Portrait VASILIEVA?) In the infirmary. Pins and needles in the hospital it seemed to artists in this happiness, in fact appeared to read, think, draw, to indulge in youthful dreams, including love. The only lyrical picture on the meeting in the garden of the club is very expressive, although both figures - this is again filled with black human silhouettes.
How simple, yet expressive drawings of all, how many they own but universal. The artist never labeled them, did not give them names, and the exhibition organizers have decided not to break their half-century anonymous, did not think of a signature, but is sometimes accompanied by excerpts from their diaries this remarkable master, analyst and philosopher, the knower of the essence of life and creativity, and devoted them to his Stay on Earth.
In his autobiography, Dmitry Krasnopevtsev wrote: "I see the place of his work is not at exhibitions and in museums and the homes of people they prefer ..." These lines can be read as a wish that the artist's instructions to his will. And thank God, this is the case with the majority of works scattered in numerous private collections of Russia and abroad. However, many domestic and international museums are proud of paintings and graphics Krasnopevtsev.
