Among the «Russian Americans», there are artists who have attained artistic maturity and have been widely recognized in exile. These masters are, for example, Pavel Tchelitchew and brothers Eugene and Leonid Berman. In 1942 he had a solo exhibition in New York's MoMA (Museum of Contemporary Art). Career Eugene and Leonid Berman, who studied at the French symbolists, including by Edouard Vuillard and Maurice Denis, also formed after his departure from Russia. Actively developing neo-romantic trends that emerged in France in the late 1920's, they are organically swimming talent in the system of aesthetics mature American surrealism.
«R Russian emigration has long been the focus gallery" Our artists. We have already held a series of exhibitions, highlighting the work of many of its representatives, - said Natalia Kournikova, the owner of the gallery of our artists. "- In the gallery the domestic audience for the first time got the opportunity to get acquainted with Russian abstract painting in France mid-twentieth century easel paintings of Paul Chelishchev, emigre creativity Mstislav Dobuzhinsky and other masters. I believe that it is Russian emigration to a large extent been able to develop something of value that was embedded in Russia in the heyday of the national culture in the early twentieth century. So deal with this subject, that is, to study and collect, not only interesting but necessary ».
