Dmitry Friedman about the exhibition: «This project, we decided to call Arthur" One hundred to two. " This year our anniversary, we mark the 50 years ... everyone. We studied with Artur in one classroom, sitting at the same party, have kept our friendship for life and passed most of his life side by side. I am pleased that once, under my influence Arthur took the hands of the camera and the passion for photography. Of course, he did it would be without me. Still, history is not written in the subjunctive mood.

Initially, my attention is attracted neradostnye subjects. The apotheosis of this was a great series of photos from Greenland. Greenland, in particular the West, - the kingdom of the Snow Queen. The largest icebergs world many thousands of years are beginning their long journey. The painting - is not realistic, ambitious, monumental. Cold majesty and power of shaking. But! That was enough to feel the thirst and the color of the sun, warmth and joy.

"There was a time for new searches. As it turned at the same time and just ... not easy! Like all close, but it is much harder to discern than the iceberg.

Photos taken in various countries, mainly Russia and Europe. Most often they are deprived of an ethnic coloring. It is difficult - and unlikely to need - a geographically defined. It seems that this is possible anywhere. As always, you can enjoy a small - ray of light, bright colors, sparkling drops of water ...

This is a festival of light, color and endless spring ».

Dmitry Friedman: «Once, in 1997, I found myself in Masao Maru, Kenya, and was shocked by the natural world, which they saw. I had a "soap-dish" and I otsnyal few dozen films. Very proud of the work done, have not yet shown the film. Then came the understanding that the photo - is not only a craft but an art. And he needs to learn. And I firmly decided for yourself: Go back to Africa necessarily learn when photographed.

In the same year I went to study at the Institute of photographs of New York, graduated from it in 2009. But my main teacher, sensei, I think the Lion Melikhov. We walked together on sketches of the old Moscow obsharpanny yard, photographing various objects, then print the photos. He lay out my photo next to her and said: "Look, man, you see: some of these - my! And you get that? "So I understood that this composition.

For a while I tried to imitate his style, his subjects. It is not yet understood: secondary Leo Melikhov not even interesting to me the most. And then went under water to remove.

I have since participated in several exhibitions of underwater photographers and a few studio projects Melikhov Lions, including the exhibition "20 Friends of the Lion Melikhov" and "Moscow - summer - Moscow" by order of the Moscow government.

In 2004 a personal exhibition of my underwater photos "Depth of field" at the State Museum "New Manege".

Then, in 2007 - in the Gallery at Solianke another my solo exhibition, "Savannah" - a series of photographs of Nature and National Parks of Tanzania, Kenya, taken in 2004-2006.

At the present exhibition - the high mountains: the Nepalese Himalayas and Tibet. Tibet - it is not only beautiful mountain scenery, but also people living in this beautiful and mysterious country. The expedition to the Himalayas was not only esoteric, but the nature of sports: a group of friends, I took part in establishing the World Record for the highland diving with an aqualung. Our goal was - Lake Tilicho in the ring Anapurny. This is the highest natural lake in the world, height - 5 100 m above sea level. Before us, no one leaves with an aqualung so high dive tables to these heights do not, we are all expected to own, in case of failure - it was nowhere to wait for assistance: Nepal is a country not Liveaboard. This expedition dalas me is not easy: grueling mountain trails, high altitude mountain sickness. But I am glad that went there, he saw with his own eyes the lake - a miracle of nature, lived at that altitude for several days and plunged into the lake with an aqualung ».
