Today, the Slovak Institute in Moscow (st 2 nd Brest, 27) opens exhibition of Rudolf Sikora «Favorite. 1970's - 1990's ».

His name is widely known to European audiences, his works are kept in museums in Paris and Rome, Vienna, Prague, Bratislava, in American collections. In life he was an activist, his power extends to many areas of human activity.

If Rudolf Sikora lived in the Renaissance, perhaps, his art would be a repository of astrological predictions, but in the twentieth century, it has not been wrong prophecies, and create image cycles. Some sheets of these series were present posters - appeals to stay in the frenzy of human greed and aggression. 1970-80-s Rudolf Sikora not only been linked c processes in Western European art, participated in the Venice Biennale, but friends and colleagues from the Soviet Union: it is possible to find common themes and approaches in plastic Sikora and Infante , , Yankylevsky ... Some of them are Slovak artists connected personal acquaintance with the other he held a dialogue in his works, bringing in visitors to his exhibitions «art underground» of «Eastern Bloc» modern European art.

This is the first solo exhibition in Moscow, Rudolf Sikora. It includes only 30 works from the hundreds created over three decades of work in his studio, known as the Open Studio.

To Sikora heritage Russian avant-garde has always been a jewel, with vigor, the breeding for the artist. Sikora in 1990 started the grand-scale cycle installations «Tomb Malevitch», «Prison for Malevitch», other projects. They - a certificate of free, equal and respectful dialogue, the representatives of the European avant-garde wing of the last century and his great Russian teachers , Lisitsky , Klyuna . Presented in this exhibition of works by Slovak Institute 1970-90-ies - the first approach to the later work. But they see the dialogue with modernity, and with the historical legacy of twentieth century art.

Rudolf Sikora (born 1946, Zilina) graduated from the Institute of the Arts and the School of Music and Scenography in Bratislava. He is a member of the Academy of Arts in Prague and one of the founders of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Media Technical University in Kosice (Slovakia), as well as professor of the Institute of the Arts in Bratislava.

In 2006, was a large-scale retrospective of the master in the National Gallery in Prague, in the 2008-meters - the Slovak National Gallery in Bratislava.
