Today in the Moscow Museum of Modern Art opens a personal exhibition of Igor Snegur «from expressionism to abstract»
Today, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art opens a solo exhibition of Snegur (1935), one of the modern masters of Russian avant-garde . The exhibition will feature works created over half a creative artist's life: from early paintings, influences ideas expressionism, to the works this year, reflecting the modern idea of the author (1959-2009).
Over the years, critics of respondents Snegur and the second wave of Russian avant-garde, and to Moscow retseptualizmu, but the artist does not fit in one direction or style. The exhibition «From expressionism to abstract» demonstrate the evolution of creative ideas and the formation of the artist's own style.
Regardless of the creation and formal framework, paintings Igor Snegur in any period of remarkable creativity maintain the accuracy of lines, soft colors, the depth of ideas. In all his paintings reflect a particular philosophy: well-thought-out combination of simple geometric forms symbolically represents the views of the artist to reflect the time and space in art.
Sam Igor Snegur so characterizes his works: «I have been working in three-dimensional space: it is not deep - there may be five to ten centimeters. You can go in a more profound - it is as though the journey the artist in a picturesque area, which he commits. Type of journey in the "time-space" - that's what this painting and its changing forms ».
Igor Snegur involved in the artistic process in the late 1950's, when he took an active part in the first exhibition in a Moscow studio abstraktsionistov Eliya Belyutina. The artist has worked a lot and tried himself in very different directions, parallel study at the Faculty of the Moscow Polygraphic Institute schedules.
In 1975, work Snegur were presented to the famous avant-garde artists in the pavilion вернисаже «Beekeeping» VDNKh on, but in the late 1970's, Igor Snegur organized a group of well-known artistic «20 Moscow Artists», the annual exhibition which took place at the Lesser Georgia in the years 1978-1988.
Creative activity Snegur from the beginning was multifaceted: the artist has worked in film and theater and studied books and posters. In 1988, Snegur opened the first private gallery in Moscow «Mars», in 1993 published the magazine-catalog «Art Panorama».
