Auction house Phillips de Pury & Company announced a new exhibition of world-recognized Chinese artist and designer Ai Veyveya (Ai Weiwei). In the exhibition, entitled Four Movements ( «Four movement»), which can be visited in London from 3 to 28 March, will include four new sculpture series by: Marble Chairs ( «Marble chairs»), Moon Cabinets ( «Lunar rooms»), Bubbles ( «Bubbles»), as well as selected works from the series of Furniture ( «Furniture »).

Ai Veyvey - a very prolific author, a great deal reached in the field of art, architecture and urban planning. One of the main ideas, constantly present in his works, this is the charm of natural shapes and forms of ancient art. The artist worked long and closely examining them, that gives him the opportunity to then call into question our conventional notions of the value, authenticity and aesthetic value of works.

Four Movements The exhibition consists of four parts, folding in the allegorical whole.

Installation Moon Cabinets in some way can be called a terrestrial portal into the unknown. This series is based on a mathematical formula, in which 81 possible unique transformation. Cabinets are made of special wood is very dense and elastic, which is often used for Chinese furniture. They are built with the help of a special carpentry technology, without using nails and screws. Each of them has four round holes, which create the effect that simulates the lunar phase of the eclipse. In Moon Cabinets design in contrast to the power of the intangible «Lunar Eclipse», which comes alive at the expense of lighting, shadows and change the status of spectator.

More controversy arose in Marble Chairs. These «chairs» look at the type of light and air, but in fact each of them weighs 55 kilograms and is carved from a piece of fine white marble. The dark streak on the surface resemble foggy landscape in shades of gray, zakovanny in the classic forms of furniture and Qing dynasties Min.

Perhaps one of the most abstract works Ai Veyveya you can call it a brilliant blue «Bubbles» (Bubbles). In this work the artist once again drawn to natural forms, but here it creates a contrast. In contrast to the melting of these foam bubbles, huge bubbles, created Veyveem look very impressive and built strictly in order to clear the grid.

In a series of Furniture has continued to sponsor again a recurring themes in his work - furniture era Min and Qing dynasties. The artist began his experiments in this area in the late 1990's and since then a lot of unusual work in which the classic chairs and tables are intertwined in unusual configurations, which seem at first glance, contrary to physical laws of gravity, three-and materiality.
