the Moscow Museum of modern art in conjunction with the Museum of Modern Art (new-Йорк) and The Andy Warhol Museum (Pittsburgh) presents the exhibition "Andy Warhol. Living portraits", dedicated to the 80-летию masters. The opening will take place today at 20.30 at the State Museum of contemporary art of the Russian Academy of arts (Gogolevsky Boulevard, 10).

The Exhibition "Andy Warhol. Living Portraits" brings together the best videos of the legends of pop-арта: 18 silent films and screen tests of beautiful, young and talented superstars — contemporaries of the artist and friends of the legendary "Factory of Dreams".

Warhol began to make tests in 1963, before the emergence of the term "video" before those who are considered ancestors of this genre. For 4 years he has created more than 500 video works, the best of which will be presented at the exhibition "Andy Warhol. Live Portraits".

Since the birth of the "king of pop-арта" of the past 80 years, and removed the video though yesterday. Daring and original attempt to combine object and subject of the image in the person model not only successfully managed, but resulted in the creation of deeply personal images and a direction in art.

For 5 years the exhibition Motion Pictures overtake North America and Western Europe. Moscow audience "living pictures" Warhol would be surprising for a half months — before the retrospective at MOMA.

Now we can take a closer look at the face of the "Factory of Dreams" 1960-х: Dennis hopper — actor and filmmaker, starred in the 1969 cult film easy rider with his close friends — Fund Peter and Jack Nicholson — starring; new-йоркскую star Jane Holzer — actress and model, film producer and collector; Edie Sedgwick — American actress, secular lioness and a rich heiress; Robert Indiana — one of the leaders of pop-арта; Nico — singer and model who performed several songs for the debut album, the Velvet Underground, which was produced by Warhol; ed Sanders — singer, poet and publicist, the founder of the avant-garde Fuck You: A Magazine of the Arts. And these are just a few names that give us new Warhol — not only rebel and lover of shocking, but also a man, obsessed by beauty.
