8 and 9 November at the State Historical Museum in Moscow will host the pre-show of top auction lots imperial and royal gifts, the opening week of the Russian bid Sotheby's (London, 24-26 November). The exhibition will be presented about 30 items from the collection of Tira Amalie Caroline, Princess of the Danish and the Duchess Kumberlendskoy, sister of Russian Empress Maria Feodorovna, wife of Alexander III. The collection, valued at not less than 1 million pounds, includes some 100 objects of decorative art, many of whom were executed by masters Faberge.

Princess Tire Amalya Carolina - the third daughter of King Christian IX of Denmark and Princess Louise of Hesse-Kassel. Her father, a Danish king, often called the «father of Europe», since almost all of his children became the European monarchs. Princess dash was only nine years old when in 1863 her older sister Alexandra married Prince Edward, the future British King Edward VII. In the same year her brother, William, was elected King of Greece and adopted the name of George I. And in 1866 her sister Dagmar married Alexander III and became the Russian Empress Maria Fyodorovna.

The exhibition at the State Historical Museum will see the gifts that Princess Tire received from their senior family members during family meetings in the castle Bernstorf, near Copenhagen. Many of them have been presented to at the time of birth or name, for Easter or Christmas, as evidenced by a note appended to them.

Top-fathomable upcoming auction and gem exhibit was a gift of Maria Feodorovna, estimated at 60-80 thousand pounds. This miniature portrait of the Empress, made master of St. Petersburg, Mikhail Pershin, covered in red paint the frame in the form of hearts, decorated with pearls and silver, Faberge. Attached is a small note in Danish: Min elskede Thyra Juleaften 1905 , which means «My favorite dash on the eve of Christmas 1905». Among the gifts of Maria Feodorovna as a very interesting table covered with lilac enamel ring - another work of Mikhail Pershina (estimeyt 40-60 thousand pounds), and coulomb-printing of agate in the form of an owl, adorned with gold (estimeyt 25-35 thousand pounds).

The exhibition also will include Tyrus princess gifts from his brother, King of Greece George I, and sister Alexandra, the wife of British King Edward VII, as well as the Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna, daughter of Empress Maria Feodorovna.

Tire Amalya Carolina transferred its collection of youngest daughter, Princess Olga, after her death left a legacy nephew Ernest Augustus, Prince of Hannover (1914-1987). The latter gave her his second wife, Monica, Countess Solms-Laube, now and put it on sale.
