September 24, 2008 at the State Hermitage Museum, in the halls of the General Staff, the project «The Hermitage 20/21» Exhibition «The Space of Timur: St. Petersburg - New York. By the 50 th anniversary of Timur Novikov ».

Timur Novikov (1958-2002) - the largest art worker of Russian art end of the last century. His works are in collections of leading Russian and foreign museums, but more recently are continuing boom in the world's largest auction.

The exhibition, timed to the anniversary date of the birth of the artist (Timur Novikov today would be 50 years old) will be represented by little-known and most unknown of the Russian audience.

The Hermitage will be on display 25 works from the collections of the Museum Stedlik, Amsterdam, (Stedelijk Museum), the State Russian Museum, the Museum Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova, Turku, Finland, as well as from private collections in St. Petersburg, Moscow and Brussels . The exhibition was organized with the proactive involvement of the family artist.

In 2007-2008, the project «The Hermitage 20/21» presented two exhibitions: «America today. Each exhibition project of contemporary art at the State Hermitage Museum, under the program «The Hermitage 20/21», became one of the main events of the cultural life of St. Petersburg. The exhibition prepared by researcher illustrated catalog, which is preceded by introductory remarks by Mikhail Piotrovsky, director of the State Hermitage Museum, and includes articles Arcadia Ippolitov, Ekaterina Andreeva, a leading researcher of the Division of the latest trends of the Russian Museum, Andrew Hlobystina, art critic.

As part of the exhibition held a round table discussion with an exposition, as well as educational lectures, movie screenings, a demonstration video archive.

The exhibition will be open from 24 September 2008, prior to January 11, 2009.
