Alex was born in Moscow. All his life was a photograph. In 1981 graduated cum laude from the Moscow Polytechnic them. Mossovet. Within two years he worked at the photo studios «Mosfilm», then in the Central Museum of Revolution in the USSR and the All-Union Center for Traditional Culture. Since 1991 worked as a free artist. He took part in the establishment of the Union of Photographers of Russia. In 1986-1991 worked with the magazine «Decorative Art USSR», published in conjunction with I. Uvarova numbers «Silver Age». In the same period, worked with the theater, Peter Schumann Bread and Puppet during their tour in Russia. In 1990-1991 participated in the creation of the journal puppet theaters «Cook-Art». Since 1989 participated in the creation of synthetic theater productions Husida and M. Yu Sobolev in Chelyabinsk and St Petersburg. Developing a series of programs on the traditional culture and social ethnography, worked in theater and advertising.

Since 1993, involved the use of innovative technology company Polaroid. The results of experiments in 1995 were shown at the exhibition «New photographic collections».
