By the time of his suicide in Auvers in 1890, he accumulated a large number of graphic works. Drawings and watercolors have a very strong influence on his painting style, and they in no way inferior oils master of arts performance. The exhibition Albertina Museum presents 50 paintings and 100 of the most interesting drawings and watercolors, from more than 60 collections from around the world. The main objective of the exhibition - to demonstrate the interdependence of art and graphics, as well as a link between Van Gogh's new approach to color and its expressive style of the line.
The exhibition, prepared in collaboration with the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, is the largest presentation of the creative legacy of the artist after the jubilee exhibition in Amsterdam in 1990. In addition, it is the first exhibition of works by Van Gogh in Austria over the past half century.
