Exhibition of photographer and artist Dzhabaha Kahado MOSKVA RAW opened in the Moscow Museum of Modern Art

Photographer and artist Jaba Kahado as no one else feels the energy of a bustling metropolis, as Style & Drive - this is his lifestyle. MOSKVA RAW - A project on the Moscow and young people, whose appearance in the last 2-3 years has changed dramatically. According to the artist, «from something factitious, stock and pretentious, they turned into the present style, which is closely linked to the music». Inspiration for the exhibition and the same photo became fashionable and scandalous in the famous party at the Loft Factory Armagh. Later, they became organized Dzhabahom and his buddies party Friday New Wave Fridays at the club «Crisis Genre» and Idle Conversation in «propaganda». Now the spirit of the streets burst into the wall of the Museum of Modern Art, and stylish images have become part of city history.

27-year-old Jaba Kahado - one of the most influential photographers of the last decade in Moscow. He is originally from New York five years ago, moved to Moscow, and here is an example for young photographers. In 22 years Kahado began working with major glossy magazines and advertising agencies, breaking the stereotype, argues that it can only distinguished professionals. He has worked with such publications as Vogue, Elle, Harper's Bazaar, Fashion Collection, Cosmopolitan, Poster, Poster WORLD, OM, NRG, FHM, Playboy, Rolling Stone, Men's Health, Men's Fitness, Domovoi, Moulin Rouge, PLUS, BEAST, Ebyan, Amaan. Tired of luster and celebrities, Jaba and his brother Zach have returned to what his closer: urban culture, music, club life, underground. In search of something new, in 2006, Jaba began his career as director of music videos, advertising and social spots in the near future he plans to withdraw his first feature-length film. Jaba Kahado - the youngest artist, representing a large solo exhibition at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art.

The exhibition will bring together 50 photos middle-and large-format. This deprived naïvety portraits of people, representing a new generation of Moscow - the heroes of this city. All works were removed in the style of «old school», using large cameras and Polaroid film, without any retouching. Another part of this show will be the installation and video. On the opening day for the general public presented the same photo-album. Since August 2008, limited edition books will be sold in New York - the album will be presented in the fashionable shops of famous international publishing house «TASCHEN».
