Unique edition of the private collections of illustrations of Edgar Degas will be presented at the exhibition «Space demi», which will open at the Pushkin Museum Pushkin on 8 August, told the RIA Novosti project curator Anna Chudetskaya.

«This is a" talking hetero "antique author Lukiana and family Cardinale" Louis Galevi that were issued after the death of Degas in the 1930's by French collectors Vollarom and Blaise respectively », - said Chudetskaya.

Editions represent portfolio, consisting of a sheet with text and drawings, which met the artist in a complex technique monotypes.

Regarding illustrating «Families Cardinale», then the main character Degas depicted in the image of his friend Galevi because the narration is first-person. Galevi it was not pleasant, and the book came out in the light only after the death of Degas.

«That copy, which will be shown to us at the exhibition - a very rare, as the portfolio, in contrast, usually do not sew. This edition of "Family Cardinale" is in a leather binding, which is even printed binder », - noted Chudetskaya.

Copies of each of the books was about 300 copies, and now they not only have high artistic value, but also provides a bibliographic rarity. We know that a copy of the book «Conversations hetero» belonged to Picasso, the artist, and subsequently conveyed it to the Louvre gift.
