«Bad» Picabia, de Chirico and Magritte
In Vienna, continuing exhibition «daub - a good Art»
The Museum of Modern Art in Vienna is held exhibition «Bad picture - good art» , dedicated to the phenomenon of bad pictures.
Poor painting often protested against the traditional canons of art. Examples include the work of Picabia - an attractive image of a woman with dark spots on the face or retouch Asgerom Jorn painting, bought them on the market. To this direction in the art can also be mutilated canvases Sigmar Polka.
Yet these artists are often appealed to the already well-known picturesque canons. So, to start work Picabia characteristic thirst for non-art, creating a new form of futurism - the image vzvihrennyh figures and their scattered fragments. Late Picabia during his stay in Vienna and Zurich, has boosted «dadaistskoy revolution». In the early 1920's, he actively sought to collage and assemblage, using as material feathers and toothpicks. But at the end of his creative way of the artist returned to neoclassical forms. In his works have appeared impressionistic features.
The exhibition presents the work of these artists, as well as paintings by Martin Kippenbergera. Total exposed 21 composition.
The exhibition will be open until October 12, 2008.
