Liverpool hosts a big exhibition of Gustav Klimt and the artists of the Vienna Secession

In Liverpool, the cultural capital of Europe - 2008, is one of the most ambitious exhibitions of the year. Until 31 August at the Liverpool branch of Tate Gallery can be seen the famous works of the Viennese artist Gustav Klimt (1862-1918). The exhibition entitled «Art, Design and Modern Life in Vienna in early 1900-s» are represented not only the work of Klimt, but objects created by other members of the Vienna Secession - the architect and designer Josef Hoffmann, a painter and designer Karl Mollen Kolomanom Moser. It also partially restored rooms Interior decoration of houses Viennese rich, who have supported these artists and put them in the fashion style. The main objective of the exhibition - to show the context in which to create their works of Klimt and other artists Secession, whose work became the embodiment of Art Nouveau.

For the exhibition in Liverpool was even recreated the famous «Beethoven frieze» Klimt.

exhibition at Tate Liverpool - the largest and ambitious of all the Klimt exhibition that ever held in Britain. She can rightfully claim the title of «of the year». To carry out such a project was, of course, extremely difficult. «If I knew how it would be difficult, I would, could, and did not decide to organize an exhibition», - said director of Tate Liverpool Christoph Gryunenberg.

Such large-scale exhibition are held very often, and make them increasingly difficult. The point is that works of art are expensive, and cases of damage to works made for hire for the exhibition, unfortunately, not so rare. Therefore, owners are afraid to lend them to museums and do not want to give up even at the time with their treasures. In the case of the Klimt works, this provision was particularly true, because at this moment he is the author of the most expensive works of art. His «Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer» was sold in 2006 for 135 million dollars.

In short, the exhibition is unique in all respects, and those who are going to England this summer, do not visit it would be simply impossible.
