Exhibition «Latin American and Caribbean Art: Selected Masterpieces from the Collection of the Museum of Modern Art» Museum opens in New York State. This is the 19 th draft educational program Bank of America, in which exhibitions of leading museums in the State of New York's Museum.

by more than 50 works of early modernism and contemporary art from the museum that has one of the largest collections of Latin American Art (about 3 500 jobs). The aim of the exhibition was to present all the major styles and movements in art in the region.

In the exhibition includes works of such great masters as Vifredo Lam (Wifredo Lam), Diego Rivera (Diego Rivera), Joaquín Torres-García (Joaquín Torres-García), Pettoruti Emilio (Emilio Pettoruti), Manuel Alvarez Bravo (Manuel Alvarez Bravo), Matta (Matta), Hector Hippolyte (Hector Hyppolyte), Marisol (Marisol), Alejandro Otero (Alejandro Otero), Lizhiya Clark (Lygia Clark), Helio Oytikika (Hélio Oiticica), Felix Gonzalez-Torres (Felix Gonzalez-Torres).

The exhibition is divided into two parts. The first includes the most interesting works of early modernism in Latin America (in particular, the Mexican wall paintings, figurative art of the Caribbean, Latin American surrealism and pop art). The second part is devoted to demonstrating the most dramatic examples of the transformation of Constructivism in Latin America from the early modern masters to the middle of the twentieth century. This section concludes with several works by contemporary artists, combining tradition and modernity.

The history of collecting works of Latin American Art Museum of Modern Art began in 1930 when he was the only organization outside of Latin America, collects, exhibits and studying this art. Thus, the museum has played a key role in shaping the perception of the Latin American culture in the United States. Founders of interest in this direction was the museum's founders Alfred H. Barr, and Abby Rockefeller Eldrih, gave the museum 36 paintings and 105 drawings of such masters as Diego Rivera and Jose Clemente Orozco (José Clemente Orozco). Then, throughout the twentieth century, this tradition was continued gifts of Nelson Rockefeller and David Rockefeller.

As for the exhibition venues - the Museum of New York, it was founded in 1836 as part of the educational program. The museum is located in the city of Albany, the state capital.

The exhibition will run until October 13, 2008.
