George Condo rightly recognized as one of the leading figurative artists of our time, the creator of his inimitable style, which he identified as «artificial realism», and in which the grotesque and irony are organically combined with the skill and gifted painter kolorista, fundamental knowledge art history.

Just before our very eyes Kondo deservedly growing popularity and interest in his work on the part of the most important museums of modern art, the most reputable galleries and private collectors. A block of his works was recently acquired for the collection of the Queen of Great Britain, Steydlik Museum. Admirers of his art are the many famous personalities of culture and business (including jewelry magnate Laurence Graff, and many others).

George Condo was born in 1957. Even in the University of Massachusetts, where he studied history of art, it became apparent that their vocation is painting Kondo. Education Kondo did not stop there, and in 1983 he went to Germany to study European painting tradition, and there became acquainted with European artists - his contemporaries.

George Condo show career began in New York in 1981, the first solo exhibition was held in Los Angeles in 1983.

Kondo - portrait of non-existent people. Among his characters - fictional Frenchman Jean-Louis, his servants, maids, pictured in kubisticheskoy style, demonic girlfriend and witches, crazy saints and spivshiesya supergeroi. Kondo ignores the natural flow of time, setting in his painting of his own reading: mountain men completely organically become heroes of modern life and, conversely, our contemporaries get on the same canvas with the Roman soldiers and the prehistoric characters.

One of the salient features of Kondo is its heterogeneity. In separate series of his works are clearly visible passion and deep knowledge of paintings by old masters, artists, schools of Paris, the Italian painting of 1920-30-ies. A special place in his system is the Pablo Picasso. This Kondo does not allow for direct quotations. His own original and fundamental knowledge of art history and artistic talent became clear at the canvas in such an unusual blend of power and pressure, that the artist can now safely claim to be the one of the leading painters of our time.
